VIDEO: All Strokes Start With Your Eyes on the Bottom

Here we are shown a breathing deficiency that we see at tweak in 99% of our Swim Analysis Appointments. When you are swimming freestyle, all your strokes must start with your eyes on the bottom. The swimmer in the video demonstrates the two things that most commonly occur when this rule is violated:

1) Moving the arm before the eyes return to the bottom can look like pressing down through the water

2) Sweeping the arm underneath the body and grabbing water behind the swimmers body.

THE FIX: To properly breath the arm remains parallel to the surface through the breath, the eyes return to the bottom and then the swimmer initiates their catch.

After correcting this at tweak, often times, the swimmers most effective stroke is the stroke that follows the breath. Watch the video to see the fix in action!
